RRTS VIADUCT READY FOR THE SECTION,

RRTS VIADUCT READY FOR THE SECTION FROM BRAHMPURI STATION TO SHATABDI NAGAR OF MEERUT
– After load testing, all the barricades are now removed, track laying activities will pick up pace.

The RRTS viaduct of the section from Brahmapuri station to Shatabdi Nagar in Meerut is now completely ready. The barricading near Atul Maheshwari flyover on the Delhi-Meerut road has been removed. Now, after the completion of civil works in this section, the roads have been fully opened for vehicular movement.

Now the work of laying track in this section will progress rapidly. Currently, track work is in progress between Meerut South and Shatabdi Nagar as well as between Shatabdi Nagar and Brahmapuri. Tracks on both the up and down sides have been laid a little before Brahmapuri station. Soon, OHE and signalling works will be undertaken.

Just a few days ago, large cranes were installed under the viaduct for load testing of the RRTS viaduct constructed between the section from Brahmapuri station to Shatabdi Nagar in Meerut. This required diverting some parts of the road on both sides for traffic. During this time, heavy concrete blocks weighing about 650 tonnes were lifted and lowered onto the viaduct with the help of cranes for load testing. The viaduct load test is conducted to check the weight-bearing capacity of the viaduct, ensuring that the viaduct span can support the weight of the trains running on it. This process has now been completed.

Brahmapuri station is the part of the Meerut Metro network. The station is taking shape, and currently, the roof is being constructed. The technical rooms are ready, with finishing work in progress. Two gates are being built on either side of the main road for passenger entry and exit. Three-coach trains will serve Meerut Metro passengers at this station.

Meerut Metro will introduce a safe, fast, and modern means of transportation for the residents of Meerut in Uttar Pradesh. The NCRTC is constructing the Meerut Metro, which runs on a 23 km section in Meerut city, featuring 13 stations. This project marks the first time in the country that both Namo Bharat Train and Meerut Metro will operate on the same infrastructure of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS.
